BUILDING RESILIENCE THROUGH
EXPERIENCE
Why I do what I do.
I grew up in the lush environment we call the North Shore. Spending my early years by the ocean and mountains, I quickly took to the outdoors and sport at a young age and swam competitively for years.
After being struck by a car as a teenager, I was forced to quit my movement practices and suffered from severe anxiety and depression. As I became older, I struggled with yo-yo dieting and anxious eating habits.
I realised I had to make considerable changes so that I could enjoy my life.
While physiotherapy and exercise rehabilitation taught me more, I was still struggling with pain management and recovering my strength. I began taking rehabilitation pilates and my world started to change. As I started to improve my strength and flexibility, I also began to notice less discomfort in my body throughout my day-to-day life.
I decided that I wanted to learn more and spread the knowledge that had made such a positive impact in my life - and that is why you’re reading this today.
Throughout the following years, I became certified in many forms of movement as I developed more strength and confidence to try new activities and improve my health. As nutrition became intertwined with my movement practices, I became focused on learning and becoming certified in science-based nutrition.
